Why is my in-hand so much less than CTC?
CTC includes employer PF, gratuity provision, insurance, and variable components. Actual monthly salary = CTC × 60–70%, rough rule of thumb.
Is variable bonus guaranteed?
Typically depends on company and individual performance. Guaranteed minimum usually 50–75% of target. In bad years, 0% is possible.
Gratuity — when is it paid?
After 5 years of continuous service, at ~15 days' basic salary per year. Companies provision it annually as part of CTC but you only receive it on exit.
