Is preventive check-up separate?
Part of the overall limit — max ₹5,000 for health check-ups counts within your self+family cap. Can be in cash (rare exception).
Can I claim without insurance for parents?
For senior citizen parents without insurance, you can claim up to ₹50K of actual medical expenses as deduction under the same section.
Does new regime allow 80D?
No — 80D is only available under old tax regime.
